Emulsions in the AL100 range exhibit exceptionally high levels of gloss and will therefore be suitable for single-sided application only.
Carton printers generally use emulsions in this range, and for this reason the AL100 products are available in a range of slip finishes.
The AL200 range still provides excellent levels of gloss, but is suitable for double-sided applications as well. For this reason the AL200 series is highly recommended to commercial printers.
Coatings in the AL300 range have been formulated to provide the very fastest drying characteristics possible. This rapid drying also permits the shortest backing up times of double sided work.
The AL400 range encompasses a series of specialty coatings, including water, alcohol, grease and heat resistance; plus mvtr emulsions and soap/alkali resistant products.
Possibly the most popular range of pulse coatings, al500 products include mattes, satins and neutrals. As with all of our coatings, this range is available for application via anilox, 3-roller coaters and jet web units.
These specially formulated products are suitable for application via in-line dedicated coating units as well as off-line machines. The adhesive itself has a very low heat resistance, allowing it to re-wet under heat and pressure thus adhering to the plastic blister.
A range of coatings designed for the subsequent application of UV curable lacquers. The primer itself acts as a sealant for the substrate, thus restricting absorbency of the UV lacquer and therefore promoting gloss and reducing yellowing.
A myriad of different finishes are available in this range, including various particle size pearlescents, odour enhanced products and tinted emulsions
Printers without coating units can apply water based products via ink ducts. The advantage here is exceptional gloss and rapid drying relative to conventional oil based varnishes. The product can also be washed up using just water.
Pulse offer a full range of blacks for perfecting, jobbing and conventional printing. This range is lead by the following products:
•SK 6060 Dense Black
•SK 6066 Perfector Black
Full range of press ready one pack off the shelf Pantone® formulations including Silver are available.
As metallic; the full range of standard Pantone® colours are available from stock. Special shades of both metallic and fluorescent colours can be matched for a wide range of substances including matt coated and impervious types.
Food packaging, flexo, screen printing, offline coating, heatset web covers you name it, pulse lacquers can cover it. For every coating application, pulse UV lacquers consistently provide the highest performance to give the best finish with no worries.
The EL500 range encompasses all mattes, satins and neutrals for various modes of application, including in-line, off-line, flexo, gravure and screen units. The formulation relies on fine particle silicas to produce the smoothest possible UV effect.
The real beauty of UV is its potential to achieve exceptionally high levels of gloss. Excluding lamination, gloss levels achieved by using UV lacquers just cannot be beaten by any other form of sealer. The El600 range contains our very highest gloss products for application via all forms of print media.
A range of lacquers designed for damper and flexo application.
The EL800 range contains lacquers suitable for ink duct application with both gloss and matt finishes. These lacquers are defined as being for either wet or dry application.
Our range of highly successful screen lacquers has been formulated to provide maximum levels of gloss, with excellent leveling and flow properties, resulting in an ultra smooth finish.
High gloss, high speed UV lacquer for heat-set magazines and catalogue production:
Pulse lead the field in the manufacture of state-of-the-art high gloss high speed in-line lacquers designed to run at speeds of 30,000 impressions per hour, while giving excellent scratch and block resistance. Additionally, the high flexibility of the cured film minimizes the potential for the coating to crack on folded or creased areas.

Conventional four colour inks are available from stock in 2.5 kg vacuum packed tins with special packaging including cartridges and guns, available on request. For larger users we offer a TIN BIN collection and delivery service.
With increasing numbers of printers opting for 8 colour 4x4 presses, Pulse offer a 4 colour set, capable of performing to the punishing running conditions of such configurations.
For this reason the APOLLO 4x4 set is a highly versatile ink system, exhibiting optimum setting speeds ensuring that problems associated with this process are completely removed.
The ASTERIA set, which is in fact based around two colours, yellow and cyan, offers high lightfastness for jobs such as posters or shop front signs.
Using the cyan and black from your existing 4 colour series, the various shades will give the following lightfastness figures (BWS) Yellow = 5-6, Magenta = 5-6, Cyan = 6-7, Black = 7-8.
The ATHENA four colour set has been formulated around the very highest quality raw materials, making this process set one of the most sought after sets in the industry.
All round optimum characteristics makes the ATHENA set the four colour set of the millennium!
As its name implies, the CENTAUR four colour set dries to exhibit exceptional levels of gloss.
The CYCLO set has been formulated around 100% renewable materials, making it the perfect alternative for the environmentally conscious printer.
Although not a four colour set, the Hexachrome series is offered in response to the demand for an ink series exhibiting extreme brightness and contrast.
The ICE series is a fully oxidising four colour set designed for application onto impervious substrates such as plastics, foils and metallised materials. Due to the diverse range of impervious substrates, it is strongly recommended that a trial run is carried out prior to actual production. If this is not possible, Pulse Printing Products are happy to assist in compatibility testing.
The ICE formulation is also available in a full range of Pantone shades, including standard colours, metallics and special matching.
Blisterpack applications are generally carried out in conjunction with a water or solvent based adhesive that can be applied via both in and off-line printing processes.
It is particularly important however to ensure that the correct inks are employed, with the IRIS 4 colour set fitting that bill exactly.
The unique formulation, provides optimum resistance properties, whilst increasing blister adhesion at the same time.
The printing of forms and leaflets, destined for subsequent laser printing are becoming increasingly popular on conventional sheet-fed presses.
Inks of this nature need to be able to withstand extremes of heat, as the job comes into contact with the lasers fuser roller.
For this reason the LASER four colour set has been formulated to resist even the highest of temperatures, whilst exhibiting excellent colour strength, printability and machine stability.
The low odour four colour set has been formulated for use in the food packaging industry, where sensitive food types such as chocolate may become tainted by less subtle systems.
The NEMESIS set is offered as an alternative to the PULSATE process series, offering similar characteristics and printing properties.
This set offers excellent tonal range, good varnishability and abrasive resistance.
As our namesake, the PULSATE four colour set leads our range of process inks into the 21st century, exhibiting all round excellence in terms of both competitive pricing and printing properties.
The Pulsate series provides the very highest levels of press stability, and has been formulated for optimum printing capacity in both the carton and commercial industries.
This set has also proved a success on 4x4 presses.
The PYTHON four colour set is a competitively priced process series suitable for commercial and carton printers alike. The Python set provides rapid ink/water balance on start up, whilst exhibiting excellent runnability throughout the job.
The Python four colour set provides excellent colour strength, rub resistance and setting times on a number of substrates and is overnight fresh in the duct for added confidence.
This process set has been formulated around hard drying resins and specific additives, designed to provide the highest rub resistance possible on matt and satin substrates, as well as jobs where problems with scuff and marking may be anticipated.
At Pulse, we are keen to provide ink sets that match your specific needs. If therefore you are unable to source a Process set from the inks above, please contact us and we will endeavour to formulate a set that is tailor made to your specific requirements. All the four colour sets included on these pages are available from stock with guaranteed next day delivery.
All four colour sets are manufactured in accordance with BS4321:1971 (1981) inks for 4 colour offset printing.
CARE SHOULD ALWAYS BE EXHIBITED WHEN PANTONE® INKS ARE TO BE SUBSEQUENTLY LAMINATED OR COATED WITH UV VARNISH, SPIRIT VARNISH OR WATER-BASED EMULSION. CERTAIN PIGMENTS MAY FADE AND AS SUCH WE WOULD ALWAYS RECOMMEND YOU CONSULT OUR LABORATORY PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT WHERE ALTERNATIVE PIGMENTS CAN BE SELECTED FOR YOUR COMPLETE CONFIDENCE.
